Singularity
Kathryn Casey has proven she can use the knowledge she gained writing true crime to shape a credible and riveting work of fiction. Bravo! I can’t wait for the next book featuring profiler Sarah Armstrong.

The 19th Wife
It took me a little time to get into the rhythm of switching between two centuries but once I did, it was well worth it. An interesting juxtaposition of the life of Brigham Young's disobedient 19th wife with a contemporary 19th wife accused of murder.

Holy Moly
A televangelist, a game warden and murder in the Texas Hill Country with laughs on every page. The only sad thing about this book is that it is the sixth and last in Ben Rehder’s Blanco County series for the foreseeable future.

The Crime Writer
Does darkness lie at the heart of this crime novelist? When he's accused of murder, even the writer thinks it's possible. Outstanding story that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering where reality ends and the games begin.

Starvation Heights
A true crime story set in the early 1900's. It had everything I liked about The Road to Wellness and The Alienist all rolled into one book.

The Last Lecture
I thought this book might be depressing but instead it was uplifting and filled with the wonder of Life. Well worth a read.

When Men Become Gods
Warren Jeffs, the man who built the recently raided polygamists' compound in Eldorado, Texas, was a cruel and controlling Prophet--a man whose word was law. Stephan Singular wrote this riveting account of Jeffs' rise to prominence and the people who caused his downfall. Excellent writing and a terrifying story of religion gone wrong.

The Husband
What would you do for love? Dean Koontz demonstrates his keen knack for suspense in this thrilling novel. It doesn't have any elements of the supernatural but, of course, it has a dog in a small but pivotal role.

A Descent into Hell
This case was unbelievable. And Kathryn Casey did an incredible job pulling the facts together in cohesive, comprehensive and captivating way.

The Kite Runner
A short way into this book, I became so furious over the actions of the main character, I almost refused to read the rest. I'm so glad I kept reading. It is an incredible story of redemption and the strength of the human spirit.

Chasing Justice
After meeting Kerry Max Cook, I had to read more about his struggle. It's an incredible story but I still don't know how anyone could survive 22 years on death row for a crime he didn't commit.

Southtown
Private Investigator Tres Navarre hunts down a stone-cold killer in another wonderfully written book by Rick Riordan.

Echo Park
I absolutely love Harry Bosch and this is one of the best reads in the series from author Michael Connelly. Harry unravels a mystery, searches his soul and continues a bittersweet romance.

The Ice Queen
An odd story, beautifully told. Alice Hoffman weaves magic with her words. I was enchanted.

Shattered Justice
John Philpin skillfully unravels the investigation into the Stephanie Crowe murder demonstrating how law enforcement can veer off track and mow down innocent people without remorse.
